NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 14 th December 1973

S.O. 795(E).—Whereas the name of the State of Mysore has since been altered to Karnataka, vide the Mysore State (Alteration of Name) Act, 1073 (31 of 1973):

And whereas the Commission considers it necessary to correct the name of State wherever it occurs in the Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Con- stituencies Order, 1966;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) in sub-section (1) of Section 9 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, the Election Com- mission hereby makes amendments in the said Order as follows:—

(1) in the Table of Contents, for the entry "11-Mysore" substitute the entry "11-Karnataka";

(2) in Schedule XI, in the heading, for the word "Mysore" substitute the word "Karnataka"; and(3) in the Annexure (pages 411 to 419) to the Order after Schedule XXIII, for the word "Mysore" substitute the word "Karnataka" wherever it occurs.
