NOTIFICATION

WEALTH-TAX

New Delhi, the 4th January 1974

S.O. 21 (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 46 of the Wealth-tax Act, 1957 (27 of 1957), the Central Board of Direct Taxes hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Wealth-tax Rules, 1957, namely:—

1. (1) These rules may be called the Wealth-tax (Amendment) Rules, 1974.

(2) They shall come into force on the 1st day of April, 1974.

2. In Form A appended to the Wealth-tax Rules, 1957, in Part V, in the first column, after item (4), the following item shall be inserted, namely:—

"(5) In the case of a Hindu undivided family, whether the Hindu undivided family has at least one member whose net wealth assessable for the assessment year exceeds Rs. 1,00.000? If the reply to this question is in the negative, please attach declarations to this effect from all mem- bers of the Hindu undivided family.". [No. 538/F. No. 143(5)/73-TPL.] O. P. BHARDWAJ, Secy.
