New Delhi, the 28th February, 1974
S.O. 124(E).—In pursuance of clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 9 of the Delimitation Act, 1972, (76 of 1972) the delimitation Commission hereby publishes its proposals for the delimitation of parliamentary and assembly constituencies in the State of Gujarat and specifies 31 March, 1974, as the date on or after which the proposals will be further considered by it.
Any objections or suggestions in regard to these proposals should reach the Secretary, Delimitation Commission, 'Nirvachan Sadan' Ashok Road, New Delhi (Pin-110001), before the said date.
Proposals
(1) The territorial constituencies into which the State of Gujarat shall be divided for the purpose of elections to (a) Legislative Assembly of the State and (b) the House of the people and the extent of each constituency and constituencies which are reserved for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, shall be as shown in the Table A and B, respectively ;
(2) Where the name of constituency as shown in Table A or Table B is distinguished by the brackets and letters "(SC)" the seat in the constituency is reserved for the scheduled Castes ; and
(3) Where the name of a constituency as shown in Table A or Table B is distinguished by the brackets and letters "(ST)", the seat in that constituency is reserved for the Scheduled Tribes
