S.R.O.15-E.—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution, the President hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Civilians in Defence Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 1973, published with the notification of the Ministry of Defence No. S.R.O. 26-E, dated the 24th December 1973, namely: —

1.(1) These rules may be called the Civilians in Defence Services (Revised Pay) Fourth Amendment Rules, 1974.

(2) They shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of January, 1973.

2. In the Civilians in Defence Services (Revised Pay) Rules 1973, in the First Schedule,—

(1) in Part A,—

(i) against serial number 47, (Technical Assistant J.C.B.), in column 4, after the entry; "425—15—600—EB—15—560— 20—700—EB—25—800", the following shall be inserted, namely: —

"(with 3 advance increments on satisfactory completion of pro- bation period)'';

(2) in Part C,—

(a) in section II, under the sub-heading "Non-gazetted posts", (I) after serial number 8 and the entries relating thereto in columns 2. 3 and 4, the following serial number and entries shall be inserted, namely:—

EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM

The Civilians in Defence Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 1973, which have been promulgated to implement the decision of the Government on the recommendations made by the Third Central Pay Commission with respect to the pay scales of Class II, Class III and Class IV Defence Civilian employees of the Government, have been given effect to from the 1st January, 1973. The present amendment to the First Schedule to those Rules, which indicate the revised scales for the various posts are also accordingly being given effect to from the 1st January, 1973 so as to extend the benefit of revised scales from that date.
