SUBJECT.—Allocation of Zinc against REP Release Orders.

No. 80-ITC(PN)/74.—'In order to make timely supplies of zinc available to ex- porters it has been decided that registered exporters or their nominees holding REP Release Orders for zinc issued to them on the Minerals & Metals Trading Corporation, under the import policy for Registered Exporters, during the month of March 1974, may obtain supplies of zine from M/s. Cominco Binani Zinc Ltd. Alwaye (Kerala) against such Release Orders, to the extent of 50 per cent of the value/quantity of (Release Orders. For the balance 50 per cent, the supplies will be made by the MMTC as per prescribed procedures,

2. REP Release Order holders; willing to avail of this facility may approach M/s. Cominco Binani Zinc Ltd., Alwaye (Kerala) for obtaining supplies against the release orders, in question. While supplying the goods against these Release Orders M/s. Cominco Binani Zinc Ltd., will make a suitable endorsement on the Release Orders to indicate the value and the quantity of zinc supplied against the Release Order They will also send a consolidated list of such supplies to the MMTC as the MMTC will supply only the balance value/quantity covered by the Released Orders.

"The items PVC Leather Cloth and PVC Expanded (Foam) Leather Cloth may be allowed only against exports of SportB Shoe Uppers in which these materials have been actually used as certified by the Export Inspection Agency. Direct import of these materials will not be allowed and Release Orders will be issued for supplies to be obtained from indigenous producers under approved arrangements.

Items PVC Leather Cloth and PVC Expanded (Foam) Leather Cloth have been included in the Scheme for supplies of indigenous materials at international price. Therefore, after the existing entry (iv) in sub-para 44 (c), the following new entry may be added :—
