NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 14th June 1974
G.S.R. 270(E) IDRA/30/1/74/8 —Whereas a draft of certain rules further to amend the Registration and Licensing of Industrial Undertakings Rules 1952 was published as required by sub-section (1) of section 30 of the Industries (Deve- lopment and Regulation) Act 1951 (65 of 1951). at pages 229-231 of the Gazette of India, Extraordinary Part II Section 3, sub-section (i), dated the 8th February 1974, under the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Industrial Development, No. G.S.R. 33(E)/IDRA/30/l/74/2, dated the 8th February, 1974, inviting objections or suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby before the 11th March, 1974;
And whereas the said Gazette was made available to the public 011 the 14th February, 1974;
And whereas no objections and suggestions have been received by the Central Government.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 30 of the Indus- tries (Development and Regulation) Act, 1951 (65 of 195l), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Registration and Licensing of Industrial Undertakings Rules, 1952, namely:—
1. These rules may be called the Registration and Licensing of Industrial Under- takings (First Amendment) Rules, 1974,
2. In the Registration and Licencing of Industrial Undertakings Rules, 1952 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules) tor the words "Ministry of Industry and

3. For rules 10 and 11 of tlje s;jid rules, the foTl'iwinK rule-; shall be KnbMitutfa namely: —
"10. Application t" be referred to Committee.— (1) The Ministry of Industrial Development ahull refer the application to j Committee appointed under sub-rule (2;,
(2) The Ministry of Industrial Development may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint one or more Committees consisting of such number of members as it may think fit to represent—
(a) the Ministries of the Central Government dealing with (i) the industries specified in the First Schedule to the Art (U) Finance; (iii) Company Affairs; and (iv) Science and Technology, ,"ul (b) the Planning Commission.
(3) A Committee appointed under sub-rule {2) may t-o-opt one or more representatives of other Ministries of the Central- Government or of any State Government concerned, wherever It is necessary.
11. Submission of report by the Committee—After such investigation as may be necessary, the Committee to which* an application bus been rei'en'eii under rule 10 shall submit a report to the Ministry of Industrial Development".
4. In rule 12 of the said rules, for the words ''the licensing Committee", the word3 "the committee" shall be substituted.
5. In rule 13 of the said rules fojc the words "the Licensing Committee1', the Words and figures "the Committee referred to in rule IJ", shall be substituted.
