S.R.O. 20-E.—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constiturion, the President hereby mates the following rules further to amend the Civilians in Defence Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 1973, published with the notification of the Ministry of Defence No. S.R.O. 26E, dated the 24th December, 1973. namely:— 1. (1) These rules may be called the Civilians in Defence Services (Revised Pay) Fifth Amendment Rules, 1974.
(2) They shall be deemed to have corns into force on the 1st day of January 1973. 2. In the Civilians in Defence Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 1973, in the First Sche- dule,—
(1) in Part B, under the sub-heading "Non-gazetted Posts",—
(a) after number 17-S and the entries relating thereto in columns (2), (3) and (4), the
following serial numbers and entries shall be inserted, namely:—

The Civilians in Defence Services (Revised, Pay) Rules, 1973, which have been promulgated to implement the decisions of Government on the recommendations made by the Third Central Pay Commission with respect to the pay scales of Defence Civilian Employees of the Government have been given effect to from the 1st January, 1973. The present amendments to the First Schedule to those Rules, which indicate the revised Bcales for the various posts, are also accordingly b ring (pven effect to from the 1st January, 1973 so aa to extend the benefit of revised scales from
that date.
