S. O. 434 (E ) .- WIIEREAS the term of office of Shri V. V. Giri , President of India , is due to expire on 23 August , 1974 :
AND WIIEREAS under sub - section ( 3 ) of the section 4 of the Presidential and Vice - Pre- sidential Elections Act , 1952 ( 31 of 1952 ) , the Election Commission is required to appoint the dates for the election to fill the office of the President of India so that it will be completed in time to en- able the President thereby elected to enter upon his office on the 24th day of August 1974 :
NOW THEREFORE in pursuance of sub - section ( 1 ) of section 4 of the said Act , the Elec- tion Commission hereby appoints in respect of the said election.-
(a) 30 July 1974 (Tuesday) , as the last date for making nominations ;
(b) 31 July 1974 ( Wednesday ) , as the date for the scrutiny of nominations ;
(c) 2 August 1974 ( Friday ) , as the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures ; and (d) 17 August 1974 (Saturday ) , as the date on which a poll shall , if necessary , be taken .

एस ०ओ ० 434 ( थ) -यतः भारत के राष्ट्रपति श्री वी ० बी ० गिरि की पदावधि का अवसान तारीख 23 अगस्त, 1974 को हो रहा है ;
और यतः , राष्ट्रपतीय और उपराष्ट्रपतीय निर्वाचन अधिनियम , 1952 ( 1952 का 31 ) की धारा 4 की उपधारा ( 3 ) के अधीन निर्वाचन आयोग द्वारा भारत के राष्ट्रपति के पद को भरने के लिए निर्वाचन के लिए तारीखें ऐसे नियत की जानी अपेक्षित हैं कि निर्वाचन ऐसे समय में पूरा हो जाए कि तद्वारा निर्वाचित राष्ट्रपति अपना पद- ग्रहण 24 अगस्त , 1974 को कर सकें ;
श्रतः, अब , उक्त अधिनियम की धारा 4 की उपधारा ( 1 ) के अनुमरण में निर्वाचन आयोग उक्त निर्वाचन के लिए--
(क ) नामनिर्देशन करने के लिए अन्तिम तारीख 30 जुलाई, 1974 ( मंगलवार ) ;
(ख ) नामनिर्देशनों की संवीक्षा की तारीख
31 जुलाई , 1974 ( बुधवार) ;
2 अगस्त , 1974 ( शुक्रवार ) ; ओर ( ग ) अभ्थिताएं वापस लेने के लिए अन्तिम तारीख
17 अगस्त, 1974 ( शनिवार ) , ( घ) यह तारीख जिसको, यदि आवश्यक हो तो, मतदान होगा ।
एतद्वारा नियत करता है ।

S. O 435 (E ) .-In pursuance of rule 7 of the Presidential and Vice -Presidential Elections Rules , 1974 , the Election Commission hereby--
(a) fixes each of the places specified in cloumn I of the Table below to be a place of pol- ling at the Presidential election to be held in accordance with its notification No. 479/74 , dated 16 July , 1974 , and
(b) withwith respect to each such place of polling, specifies in the corresponding entry in column 2 of the said Table the group of electors whowho will be entitled to vote at that place.

एस ० श्रो ० 435 ( प्र)-राष्ट्रपतीय और उपराष्ट्रपतीय निर्वाचन नियम , 1974 के नियम 7 के अनुसरण में निर्वाचन आयोग--
( क ) नीचे दी हुई सारणी के स्तभ 1 में विनिदिष्ट स्थानों में से प्रत्येक स्थान को अपनी अधिसूचना संख्या 479/74 , तारीख 16 जुलाई, 1974 के अनुसार होने वाले राष्ट्रपतीय निर्वाचन में मतदान का स्थान एतद्वारा नियत करता है ; और
(ख ) ऐसे प्रत्येक मतदान के स्थान के बारे में , उन निर्वाचकों के समुह को जो उस स्थान पर मत देने के हकदार होंगे , उक्त सारणी के स्तम्भ 2 में तत्सम्बन्धी प्रविष्टि में एतद्वारा विनिर्दिष्ट करता है ।

मंमद के निर्वाचित सदस्य ( उन सदस्यों को छोड़कर जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् किसी अन्य मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहते हों ) और किसी राज्य की विधान सभा का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य, जो नई दिल्ली में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देने के लिए अपने द्वारा निर्वाचन आयोग से किए गए विशेष अनुरोध पर निर्वाचन श्रायोग द्वारा ऐसा करने के लिए अनुज्ञात किया गया हो ।
2. प्रान्ध्र प्रदेश विधान सभा भवन का समिति कक्ष , हैदराबाद ।
हैदराबाद विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् हैदराबाद में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।
3. असम विधान सभा भवन का कमरा सं ० 26, दिसपुर ।
असम विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् दिसपुर में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।
4. बिहार विधान सभा का सूचना कक्ष, पटना ।
बिहार विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् पटना में मतदान के स्थान १२. मत देना चाहता है ।

5. गुजरात विधान सभा का पुस्तकालय , गांधीनगर ।
संमद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् गांधीनगर में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।
6. हरयाणा विधान सभा सचिवालय का समिति कक्ष, विधान भवन , चंडीगढ़ -1
हरयाणा विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् चंडीगढ़ में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।
7. हिमाचल प्रदेश विधान सभा भवन के कौंसिल चैम्बर का समिति कक्ष , शिमला ।
हिमाचल प्रदेश विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् शिमला में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।
8. सभा गोष्ठी-कक्ष , जम्मू- कश्मीर विधान सभा भवन , श्रीनगर ।
जम्मू-कश्मीर विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य श्रौर संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् श्रीनगर में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।
9. समिति कक्ष ( कक्ष सं० 118) , कर्नाटक विधान मंडल सचिवालय , प्रथम खण्ड, विधान सौध, बंगलौर ।
कर्नाटक विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् बंगलौर में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।
10. केरल विधान सभा भवन का प्रेस कक्ष , तिरुवनन्तपुरम ।
केरल विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् तिरुवनन्तपुरम में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।
11. मध्य प्रदेश विधान सभा भवन का समिति कक्ष , भौपाल ।
मध्य प्रदेश विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् भोपाल में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।
12. गोष्ठी कक्षों सहित महाराष्ट्र विधान सभा हाल , फोर्ट , मुम्बई ।
महाराष्ट्र विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् मुम्बई में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।
13. मणिपुर विधान सभा का समिति कक्ष, इम्फाल ।
मणिपुर विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् इम्फाल में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।

14. विधान सभा परिसर के भीतर मेघालय विधान सभा का पुस्तका- लय , शिलांग ।
मेघालय विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् शिलांग में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।
15. सर्मित कक्ष , नागालैंड विधान सभा भवन , कोहिमा ।
नागालैंड विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् कोहिमा में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।
16. राज्य विधान सभा भवन में उड़ीसा विधान सभा के सचिव का कार्या- लय कक्ष , भुवनेश्वर ।
उड़ीमा विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् भुवनेश्वर में मतदान के स्थान पर मप्त देना चाहता है ।
17. पंजाब विधान सभा सचिवालय का समिति कक्ष , विधान भवन , चंडीगढ़ ।
पंजाब विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् चंडीगढ़ में मतदान के स्थान पर मत्त देना चाहता है ।
18. राजस्थान विधान सभा का मत्रि- मण्डल कक्ष, सवाई मानसिंह टाऊन हाल , जयपुर ।
राजस्थान विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् जयपुर में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।
तमिलनाडु विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संमद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् मद्रास में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।
19. मचिवालय भवन के ग्राउन्ड फ्लोर पर विधान मंडल समिति वाक्ष (जो पहले सदस्यों का विश्राम कक्ष था ) , फोर्ट मेन्ट जॉर्ज, मद्रास ।
20. त्रिपुरा विधान सभा का पुस्तकालय कक्ष , अगरतला ।
त्रिपुरा विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् अगरतला में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।
21. विधान वाचनालय ( कक्ष स ०14) , विधान भवन , लखनऊ ।
उत्तर प्रदेश विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचिप्त करने के पश्चात् लखनऊ में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।

22. सभा भवन में " असेम्बली चैम्बर ",
कलकत्ता-1
पश्चिमी बंगाल विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्य और संसद का कोई निर्वाचित सदस्य जो निर्वाचन आयोग को सूचित करने के पश्चात् कलकत्ता में मतदान के स्थान पर मत देना चाहता है ।

In pursuance of clause ( b ) of rule 7 of the Presidential and Vice - Presidential Elections Rules , 1974 , the Election Commission hereby specifies the hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both inclusive to be the hours during which the poll will be taken at each place of polling fixed by the Commission in its notification No. 479/74 (6 ) I , dated the 16 July, 1974 , for the Presidential election .

एस ० श्रो० . 436 ( श्र) राष्ट्रपतीय और उपराष्ट्रपतीय निर्वाचन नियम , 1974 के नियम 7 के खण्ड ( ख ) के अनुसरण में निर्वाचन आयोग 10 बजे पूर्वाहन से 5 बजे अपराह्न , दोनों को सम्मिलिप्त करते हुए , के बीच का समय एतद्वारा उस समय के रूप में विनिर्दिष्ट करता है जिसके दौरान , आयोग द्वारा राष्ट्रपतीय निर्वाचन के लिए अपनी अधिसूचना सं ० 479/74 ( 6) ( I ) , तारीख 16 जुलाई , 1974 में नियत हर एक मतदान के स्थान पर , मतदान होगा ।

S. O. 437 (E ) .-Besides the Returning Officer for the Presidential Eelection 1974 , who shall conduct the poll to be taken at the said clection on the 17 August , 1974 at the place of polling in the Parliament House in New Delhi , the Assistant Returning Officers who are hereby specified in Column I of the Table below by the Election Commission under sub - rule ( 1 ) of rule 9 of the Presidential and Vice - Presidential Elections Rules , 1974 , shall also conduct the poll at the said election on the said date and the place of polling at which each such Assistant Returning Officer shall conduct the poll is specified against him in column 2 of the said Table :-

एस० श्रो० 437 ( प्र) -राष्ट्रपतीय निर्वाचन , 1974 के लिए उस रिटर्निग आफिसर के अतिरिक्त जो उक्त निर्वाचन में 17 अगस्त , 1974 को नई दिल्ली के संसद् भवन में मतदान के स्थान पर होने वाले मतदान का संचालन करेगा, वे सहायक रिटर्निग आफिसर भी , जो राष्ट्रपतीय और उपराष्ट्रपतीय नियम , 1974 के नियम 9 के उपनियम ( 1 ) के अधीन निर्वाचन आयोग द्वारा नीचे की सारणी के स्तम्भ 1 में एतद्वारा विनिदिष्ट किए गए हैं , उक्त निर्वाचन में उक्त तारीख को मतदान का संचालन करेंगे और मतदान का वह स्थान जहां ऐसा प्रत्येक सहायक रिटर्निंग ऑफिसर मतदान का संचालन करेगा, उक्त सारणी के स्तम्भ 2 में उसके सामने विनिर्दिष्ट है:--
