G.S.R. 325(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of sec- tion 25 of the Customs Act, 1062 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts petro- leum crude, falling under Item No. 27(10) of the First Schedule to the Indian Tariff Act, 1934 (32 of 1934), when imported into India, from so much of the additional duty leviable thereon under section 2A of the Indian Tariff Act, 1934 (32 of 1934), as is equivalent to the duty of excise for the time being leviable on such Roods under sub-clause (1) of clause 15 of the Oil Industry (Development) Bill, 1974 (No. 64 of 1974), which clause has, by virtue of the declaration made in the said Bill under the Provisional Collection of Taxes Act, 1931 (16 of 1931), the force of law.
