DELIMITATION COMMISSION, INDIA

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 30th July 1974

S.O. 463 (E).—In pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 10 of the Delimitation Act, T972 (76 of ,1972) an Order made by the Delimitation Commission under section 8 of the said Act in res- pect of the State of Tamil Nadu is hereby published: —

ORDER NO, 21

In pursuance of section 8 of the Delimitation Act, 1972 (76 of 1972) we hereby determine, on the basis of the latest census figures and having regard to the provisions of articles 81,170,330 and 332 of the Constitution, the number of seats in the House of the People to be allocated to the State of Tamil Nadu as thirty- nine (39) of which seven (7) seats shall be reserved for the (1599) 1600 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART 11—SEC. 3(U)]

Scheduled Castes and the total number of seats to be assigned to the Legislative Assembly of the State as two hundred and thirty- four (234) of which forty-two (42) seats shall be reserved for the Scheduled Castes and two (2) seats for the Scheduled Tribes.
