THE NORTH-EASTERN AREAS (REORGANISATION) AMENDMENT ORDINANCE, 1975
No. 2 OF 1975
Promulgated by the President in the Twenty-fifth Year of the Republic of India.
An Ordinance further to amend the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act, 1971.
WHEREAS Parliament is not in session and the President is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary for him to take immediate actioin;
Now, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of article 123 of the Constitution, the President is pleased to promulgate the following Ordinance: —
1. (1) This Ordinance may be called the North-Eastern Areas (Re-
organisation) Amendment Ordinance, 1975.
16 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PAH? II—SEC. 1]2, During the period of operation of this Ordinance, the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act, 1971 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), shall have effect subject to the amendment specified in section 3.
Act 81 of 1971 to toe tem- porarily amended.
3. In section 53 of the principal Act, in sub-section (3), for the words
"three years", the words "thirty-eight months" shall be substituted.
