ORDERS

New Delhi, the 30th January 1975

G.S.R. 22(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Essential Com- modities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955). the Central Government hereby makes the following Order further to amend the Rice (Southern Zone) Movement Control Order, 1957, namely;—

1. (1) This Order may be called the Rice (Southern Zone) Movement Control (Amend- ment) Order, 1975.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

2. In the Rice (Southern Zone) Movement Control Order, 1957,—

(i) in clause 1, in sub-clause (2), for the words "Madras and Mysore", the words 'Tamil Nadu and Karnataka" shall be substituted;

(ii) in clause 2, in sub-clause (e), for the words "Madras and Mysore", the words "Tamil Nadu and Karnataka" shall be substituted;

(iii) in clause 3,—

(a) in the first proviso, for item (iv), the following item shall be substituted, namely:—

"(iv) where such export or import is of gift rice received under the Indo-U.S.

Agreement on Relief Supplies, 1968,";

(b) in the second proviso, in item (b), for the words "Laccadive, Mioicoy and Amindivi Islands", in both the places where they occur, the word "Luksha- dweep" shall b^ substituted;

(iv) in clause 3A,-—

(a) in the proviso,—

(i) in item (iv), for the word "Mysore", the word "Karnalaka" shall be substitut- ed;

(ii) for item (vii), fne following item shall be substituted, namely:—

"(vii) being gift rice received under the Indo-U.S. Agreement on Relief Sup- plies, 1968.";

(b) for the EXPLANATION, the following EXPLANATION shall be substituted, namely:—•

"Explanation.—tax the purposes of this clause, 'border area' means—

(i) the area falling within the ten-mile belt inside the State of Andhra Pra* desh and adjoining the States of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Orissa;

(ii) the area falling within the five-mile belt inside the State of KarnataJca and adjoining the State of Maharashtra and the area comprising Go* in the Union territory of Goa, Daman and Diu.";

(v) in clause 4, in sub-clause (3), for the word ''suspects", the words "has reason to believe" shall be substituted.

GJS.R. 23(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Essential Com- modities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955), the Central Government hereby males the following Order further to amend the Southern States (Regulation of Export of Rice) Order, 1964, namely;—

1. (1) This Order may be called t'ne Southern States (Regulation of Export of RiceJ Amendment Order, 1975.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

2. In the Southern States (Regulation of Export of Rice) Order, 1964,—

(i) in clause 3A, in the proviso—-

(a) in item (vi), for the words "twenty . kilograms", the words ''five Icjlogrami" shall be substituted;

(b) after item (vii), the following item shall be inserted, namely:—

"(viii) not exceeding twenty kilograms in weight in the aggregate at one tim" by a bona fide resident of the border area for domestic consumption"; (ii) in clause 4, in sub-clause (iii), for the figure and word "1 kilogram", the words "five kilograms" shall be substituted.
