NOTIFICATION
CENTRAL EXCISES
New Delhi, the 1st February 1975
G.S.R- 39(E).—In exercise of the powers (conferred by sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue and In- surance) No. 155/74-Central Excises, dated the 30th/November, 1974 the Central Gov- ernment hereby fixes a tariff value of Three hundred and fortyfive rupees per quintal for sugar falling under sub-item (1) of Item No. 1 of the First Schedule to the said Act and chargeable with duty ad valorem.
Provided that nothing contained in this notification shall apply to sugar required, by the Central Government to be sold under clause (f) of sub-section (2) of Section 3, of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955).
