New Delhi , the 31st January 1975
G.S.R. 40 ( E ) . In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 10, 28 , 30 and 74 of the Indian Post Office Act , 1898 ( 6 of 1898 ) , the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Indian Post Office Rules , 1933 , namely :-
I. (1 ) These rules may be called the Indian Post Office ( First Amendment ) Rules , 1975 .
(2) They shall come into force on the 10th day of February , 1975 .
2. In the Indian Post Office Rules , 1933-
(a) for rules 5 and 5A , the following rules shall be substituted , namely :--
"5. The following rates of postage shall be chargeable on postal articles where the pre- tage is pre-paid .
Australia , Other Japan , Laos , Foreign Thailand , countries
Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh
New Zea- land , Korea , Phillipines and Indonesie

The Director General shall , from time to time , declare in the Post Office Guide , Part It the countries and places to which insured boxes can be transmitted by the Foreign Letter Post :
VII . Parcels
The Director General shall , from time to time , declare in the Post Office Guide , Part II, the countries and places to which parcels may be transmitted by the Foreign Post and the rates of postage chargeable in each case .
Postae and other charges due on parcels which are returned as undeliverable from the countries and places of the destination ingaccordance with the arrangements in force between India and such countries and places shall be recovered from senders in India .
SA. The following rates of postege shall be chargeable on the gross weight of a bulk bag of printed matter when the postage is pre-paid , namely:

सा० का ० नि० 40 (प्र) केन्द्रीय सरकार , भारतीय डाकघर अधिनियम , 1898 ( 1898 का 6 ) की धारा 10 , 28 , और 74 द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए , भारतीय डाकघर नियम , 1933 में और संशोधन करने के लिए निम्नलिखित नियम बनाती है, श्रर्थात्ः-
1. ( 1 ) इन नियमों का नाम भारतीय डाकघर ( प्रथम संशोधन ) नियम , 1975 है ।
( 2) ये 10 फरवरी, 1975 को प्रवृत्त होंगे ।

2. भारतीय डाकघर नियम , 1933 में
(क ) नियम 5 , 5 - क के स्थान पर निम्नलिखित नियम रखे जाएंगे , अर्थात्ः--

महानिदेशक समय - समय पर डाकघर गाइड भाग-2 में उन स्थानों और देशों की घोषणा करेंगे जहां के लिए विदेशी डाक से पार्सल भेजे जा सकते हैं और साथ ही हर मामले में वसूल की जाने वाली डाक -भार की दरें भी बताएंगे ।

ऐसे पार्सलों पर जो भारत और ऐसे अन्य देशों के बीच प्रवृत इन्तजामों के अनुसार बिना वितरण हुए गंतव्य देशों और स्थानों से वापस किए जाते हैं शोध्य डाक महसूल और अन्य प्रभार भारत में प्रेषकों स वसूल किए जाएंगे ।
5 - क्र.-- जबकि डाक महसूल की पूर्व अदायगी कर दी गई हो तब छपी सामग्री के भारी थैले के कुल वजन पर डाक महसूल की निम्नलिखित दरें प्रभारित की जाएंगी,
