DELIMITATION COMMISSION, INDIA

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 11th March 1975

S.O. 132(E).—In pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 10 of the Delimitation Act, 1972 (76 of 1972) an Order made by the Delimitation Commission under section 8 of the said Act in respect of the State of West Bengal is hereby published: —

ORDER NO. 39

In pursuance of section 8 of the Delimitation Act, 1972 (76 of 1972) we hereby determine, on the basis of the latest census figures and having regard to the provisions of articles 81, 170, 330 and 332 of the Constitution, the number of scats in the House of the People to be allocated to the State of West Bengal as forty-two (42) of which eight (8) seats shall be reserved for the Scheduled Castes and two (2) seats shall be reserved for 'the Scheduled Tribes, and the total number of seats to be assigned to the Legislative ( 565 ) 566 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(ii)]

Assembly of the State as two hundred and ninety-four (294) of which fifty-nine (59) seats shall be reserved for the Scheduled Castes and seventeen (17) seats for the Scheduled Tribes.
