New Delhi, the 28th March 1976
S.O. 158(E).—Whereas, In the opinion of the Central Government it is necessary and expedient no to do for maintaining supplies and services essential to the life of the com- munity;
And whereas, any strike in the establishments of the Corporation of Calcutta would prejudicially affect the maintenance of supplies and services essential to the life of the community, It is necessary and expedient to prevent strikes in the establishments of the said Corporation;
Now, therefore, In exercise of the powers conferred by rule 118 of the Defence of India Rules, 1971, the Central Government prohibits any strike in connection with any industrial dispute in the establishments of the Corporation of Calcutta for a period of six months.
