NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 24th May 1975

S.O. 227(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 53 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 (10 of 1949), the Central Government, on the recommendation of the Reserve Bank of India, hereby declares that the provisions of Note (f) appended to Form 'A' in the Third Schedule to the said Act shall not apply to the following banks, viz. :—

(1) Central Bank of India (2) Punjab National Bank (3) Bank of Baroda (4) United Commercial Bank (5) Dena Bank (6) Union Bank of India (7) Allahabad Bank (8) Indian Bank (9) Bank of Maharashtra (10) Indian Overseas Bank.

In respect of their balance sheet as at the 31st December, 1974 which, when the value shown in the inner column against any of the sub-heads (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) of item 4 on the Property and Assets side of the said Form exceeds the market value of the investment under the sub-head, shows separately the market value of the investments under that sub-head.
