New Delhi , the 9th June 1975
5.O. 253 (E ) -Whereas the President has , by notification published in the Gazette of India, on the 9th June , 1975 , called upon the elected members of the Legislative Assembly of the State of West Bengal to elect six members to the Council of States;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred byby sub-section ( 1 ) of Section 39 of the Representation of the People Act , 1951 , the Election Commission hereby appoints with respect to the said elections :-
(a) the 16th June , 1975 ( Monday) , as the last date for making nominations;
(b) the 17th June , 1975 (Tuesday) , as the date for the scrutiny of nominations ;
(c) the 19th June , 1975 (Thursday) , as the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures;
(d) the 26th June , 1975 (Thursday) , as the date on which a poll shall , if necessary, be taken; and
(e) the 2nd July , 1975 (Wednesday) , as the date before which the election shall becompleted.

का ० श्रा ० 253 ( श्र ) --यतः , भारत के राजपत्र में तारीख 9 जून, 1975 को प्रकाशित अधिसूचना द्वारा राष्ट्रपति ने पश्चिमी बंगाल राज्य की विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्यों से राज्य सभा के लिए छः सदस्य निर्वाचित करने की अपेक्षा की है ;
अनः , अब , लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम , 1951 की धारा 39 की उपधारा ( 1 ) द्वारा प्रदन्न शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए , निर्वाचन आयोग उक्त निर्वाचन के बारे में:-
( क) नामनिर्देशन करने के लिए अन्तिम तारीख 16 जून, 1975 ( सोमवार ) ;
( ख ) नामनिर्देशनों की संवीक्षा की तारीख 17 जून , 1975 ( मंगलवार ) ;
(ग ) अभ्यर्थिताएं वापस लेने की अन्तिम तारीख 19 जून, 1975 ( बृहस्पतिवार );
( घ ) वह तारीख जिसको यदि आवश्यक हो तो मतदान होगा 26 जून, 1975 ( बृहस्पति- वार) ; तथा
( ङ ) वह तारीख जिसके पूर्व निर्वाचन समाप्त कर दिया जाएगा 2 जुलाई , 1975 ( बुधवार) एतवद्वारा नियत करता है ।
[सं ० 318/५० सं०/ 75 ( 1) ] 9.0.254(E ) In pursuance of Section 56 of the Representation of the People Act , 1951 , the Election Commission hereby fixes the hours from 10.00 л.Μ. το 4.00 P.M. as the hours during which the poll shall , if necessary , be taken at the biennial election to the Council of States in the State of West Bengal , to be held in pursuance of the President's notification published in the Gazette of India on the 9th June , 1975.

क१० २१० 254 ( प्र) लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम , 1951 की धारा 56 के अनुसरण में निर्वाचन आयोग भारत के राजपत्त्र में तारीख 9 जून, 1975 की प्रकाशित राष्ट्रपति की अधिसूचना के अनुसरण में, पश्चिमी बंगाल राज्य से राज्य सभा के लिए होन बाले द्विवार्षिक निर्वाचन के लिए 10-00जे पूर्वाह्न से 4-00 बजे अपराह्न तक का समय उस समय के रूप में एतदद्वारा नियत करता है , जिसके दौरान यदि आवश्यक हो, तो मतदान होगा ।

S.O. 255 (E ) -In pursuance of the provisions of Section 21 of the Representation of the People Act , 1951 , the Election Commission, in consultation with the Government of West Bengal , hereby designates the Secretary, West Bengal Legislative Assembly , as the Returning Officer for the biennial election to the Council of States to be held in the State of West Bengal in pursuance of the President's notification published in the Gazette of India on 9th June , 1975 .

क.१० अ ० 255 ( अ ) लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम , 1951 की धारा 21 के उपबन्धों के अनुसरण में निर्वाचन आयोग पश्चिमी बंगाल राज्य सरकार के परामर्श से भारत के राजपत्र में तारीख 9 जून, 1975 को प्रकाशित राष्ट्रपति की अधिसूचना के अनुसरण में, पश्चिमी बंगाल राज्य से राज्य सभा के लिए होने वाले द्विवार्षिक निर्वाचन के लिए सचिव , पश्चिमी बंगाल विधान सभा को रिटर्निंग ऑफिसर के रूप में एतदद्वारा पदाभिहित करता है ।

S.O. 256(E ) .- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub- section ( 1 ) of Section 22 of the Representation of the People Act , 1951 , the Election Commission hereby appoints Shri D. Chakraborty , Deputy Secretary , West Bengal Legislative Assembly to assist the Returning Officer , appointed vide Commission's notification No. 318 /WB/75 ( 3 ), dated the 9th June , 1975 , in the performance of his functions .
