SUBJECT.—Import of life saving equipment without the requirement of an import

licence/customs clearance permit.

No. 85-ITC(PN)/75.—Attention is invited to the provision made in para 1(")(B) in Appendix 52 of the Import Trudc Control Policy (.Red Book, Vol. I) lor 1975-76 in terms of which individuals, hospitals or medical institutions can import certain life saving equipment for their own use without the requirement of an import licence. It has been decided to allow import of "D,C. Deflbrillator pacemaker system complete" also under this facility. Accordingly, this item may be deemed to have been included in the list of items indicated against para l(ii)(g) of the aforesaid Appendix 52.
