G.S.R. 479(E),—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 34 of the Defence and Internal Security of India Act, 1971, (42 of 1971) the Central Government hereby directs that the powers conferred on it by rule 7, read with rule 8, of the Defence and Internal Security of India Rules, 1971 shall, in respect of the places specified in column (2) of the Schedule hereto annexed, being protected places, be exercised also by the officers specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said schedule.
