IMPORT TRADE CONTROL

SUBJECT.—Import of Newsprint.
No. 109-ITC(PN)/75.—Attention is invited to the import policy for Newsprint falling under S. No. 44/V in the Import Trade Control Policy (Red Book—Vol I) for 1975-76, as announced in Ministry of Commerce Public Notice No. 34-ITC(PN)/75, dated the 19th May, 1975.
2. In view of the availability of large stocks of newsprint in the country and the need to conserve foreign exchange, it has been decided to suspend import of the item until further orders. Import licences already issued for newsprint will also not be operative during the period of suspension, except to the extent to which shipments have already been effected or ships nominated for future shipments by the State Trading Corporation of India Limited, before the date of issue of this Public Notice.
