ORDER
New Delhi, the 15th November 1975
S.O. 654(E).—-Whereas in the opinion of the Central Government it is necessary and expedient so to do for maintaining supplies and services essential to the life of the community;
And whereas any strike or lockout in the services in the State of Kerala, connected with the supply of electrical energy to the public or with the generation, storage or trans- mission of electrical energy for the purpose of such supply (including the works connected with the Idikki Hydro-electric Project in the State of Kerala) would prejudicially affect the maintenance of supplies and services essential to the life of the community, it is neces- sary and expedient to prevent strike or lockout in the said services;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by rule 118 of the Defence and Internal Security of India Rules, 1971, the Central Government hereby prohibits, any strike or lockout, in connection with any industrial dispute in the said services for a period of six months with effect from the 15th November. 1975.
