ORDER
New Delhi, the 9th January 1976
S.O. 31 (E).—Whereas in the opinion of the Central Government, it is necessary and expedient so to do for maintaining supplies and services essential to the life of the community;
And whereas any strike in the works (other than the works connected with the supply of electrical energy to the public or with the generation, storage or transmission of electrical energy for the purpose of such supply) connected with the Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited, Neyveli would prejudicially affect the maintenance of supplies and services essential to the life of the community, it is necessary and expedient to prevent strikes in the said works;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by rule 118 of the Defence and Internal Security of India Rules, 1971, the Central Government hereby pro- hibits, with immediate effect, any strike in connection with any industrial dispute in the said works for a period of six months with effect from 11th January, 1976.
