NOTIFICATIONS

New Delhi, the 21th January 1976

G.S.R, 41(E).—In pursuance of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Home Affairs No. S.O. 208(E) dated the 16th May, 1975, the Central Govern- ment hereby appoints the 1st February, 1976 as the date on which the Registration of Foreigners Act, 1939 (16 of 1939), and the Foreigners Act, 1946 (31 of 1946) shall come into force in the State of Sikkim,

G.S.R, 42(E).—The following draft of a notification which the Central Government proposes to issue in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Registration of Foreigners Act, 1939 (16 of 1939), is hereby published as required by the said section for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby, and notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consideration on or after the expiry of a period of thirty days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette.

Any objections or suggestions which may be received from any person with respect to the said draft before the expiry of the period so specified will be considered by the Central Government.

DRAFT NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Registration of Foreigners Act, 1939 (16 of 1939), the Central Government hereby directs that the Registration of Foreign- ers Rules, 1939, shall extend to, and come into force, in the State of Sikkim with effect on and from the 1st March, 1976.

ORDERS

G.S.R 43(E).-In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Foreigners Act, 1946 (31 of 1946), the Central Government hereby directs that the Foreigners Order, 1948 and the Foreigners (Registration on Chinese Nationals) Order, 1962, shall extend to and come into force in, the State of Sikkim with effect on and from the 1st February, 1976.

G.S.R. 44(E0.—-In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 A of the Foreigners Act, 1946 (31 of 1946). the Central Government hereby directs that the Foreigners (Exemption) Order, 1957, shall extend to, and come into force in, the State of SJkkim yith effect on and from the 1st February, 1976.

G.S.R. 45(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Foreigners Act, 1946 (31 of 1946), the Central Government hereby directs that ihe Foreigners (Protected Areas) Order, 1958, s*nall extend to, and come into force in, the Slate of Sikkim with effect on and from the 1st February, 1976 and farther directs that in sub-paragraph (3) of paragraph 1 of the said Order, the words "subjects of Sikkim" shall be omitted.

G.S.R. 47(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Foreigners Act, 1946 (31 of 1946), the Central Government hereby directs that the Foreigners (Restricted Areas) Order, 1963 shall extend to, and come into force{ in the Stite of Sikkim with effect on and from the 1st Febru'ary, 1976, and further directs that in clause (a) of the first proviso to paragraph 3. of the said Order, the words "or Sikkim" shall be omitted.

G.9.R. 48(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 3 and 3A of the For- eigners Act, 1946 (31 of 1946), the Central Government hereby directs that toe Fpreigncrs (Restrictions on Residence) Order, 1968, shall extend to, and come into force, in the State of Sikkim with effect on and from the 1st February, 1976.
