NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 24th January 1976
S.O. 71 (E).—Whereas the Government of the State of Tamil Nadu have intimated a few alterations in the name and extent of territorial divisions in the State and inadvertent slip or omission, in the description of certain assembly constituencies mentioned in Table B of the Delimitation Commission's Order No. 31 of 1 January, 1975, in respect of the State of Tamil Nadu;
And whereas the Commission considers it necessary and expedient to make amendments in the description of those constituencies and in the Appendix to the said Order and correct the errors arising from inadvertent slip or omission so as to bring the Order correct and uptodate;
Now therefore in exercise of the powers conferred by section 11 of the Delimitation Act. 1972, the Election Commission hereby makes the corrections in the said Order as follows: —
I—In Table B—Assembly Constituencies—
(i) Under column 2, against 15-Gummidipundi, in the description of the extent of the constituency, for the Words Gummidipundi sub-taluk', the words "Gummidipundi taluk" shall be substituted;
(ii) Under column 2, against 16-Ponneri(SC), in the description of the extent of the constituency, the words and brackets "(excluding Gummidipundi sub-taluk)", shall be amitted;

178 THE GAZETTE OF lNDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART 1 1-(iii) Under column 2, against 60-Thirunavalur in the description of the extent of the constituency, for the existing entry, the entry "Thirunavalur Panchayat Union in Ulunderpet taluk; and Thiruvennainallur panchayat Union in Tirukoilur and Ulunderpet taluks." shall be substituted;
(iv) Under column 2, against 61-Ulunderpet(SC), in the description of the extent of the constituency, for the words "Tirukoilur taluk", the words "Ulunderpet taluk" shall be substituted;
(v) Under column 2, against 62-Nellikuppam, in the description of the extent of the constituency, for the words "Anna Gramam panchayat Union" the words "Anna Gramam Panchayat Union in Panruti taluk;" shall be substituted;
(vi) Under column 2, against 64-Panruti, in the description of the extent of the constituency, for the existing entry, the entry "Panruti municipality, Panruti Panchayat Union, the panchayats in Kurinjipadi Panchayat Union specified in item (17) of the Appendix in Panruti taluk; and the panchayats in Kurinjipadi Panchayat Union specified in item (17-A) of the Appendix in Cuddalore taluk.", shall be substituted;
(vii) Under column 2, "against 65-Kuriniipadi, in the description of the extent of the constituency, for the existing entry, the entry "Neyveli Lignite Corporation area, Kurinjipadi Panchayat Union [excluding the panchayats specified in items (17) and (17-A) of the Appendix] in Panruti and Cuddalore taluks," shall be substituted;
(viii) Under column 2, against 67-Kattumannarkoil(SC) and 68-Chidam- baram, in the description of the extent of the constituency, the words and figures "village 140-Thirupaninatham in Chettikattalal Panchayat and" shall be omitted;
(ix) Under columns 1 and 2 against 97-Kabilamalai, for the word "Kabilamalai" read "Kapilamalai";
(x) Under column 2, against 124-Bhavanisagar, in the description of the extent of the constituency, for the existing entry, the entry "Bhavanisagar Township and Bhavanisagar Panchayat Union in Sathyamangalam talluk; "Nambiyur Panchayat Union (excluding Koshanam, Talguni and Getticheviyur panchayats) and Sathyaman- galam Panchayat Union [excluding the panchayats specified in item (35) of the Appendix] in Gobichettipalayam and Sathyaman- galam taluk.", shall be substituted;
(xi) Under column 2, against 125-Sathyamangalam, in the description of the extent of the constituency, for the existing entry, the entry "Sathyamangalam Municipality, the panchayats in Sathyamangalam panchayat Union specified in item (35) of the Appendix and Talavady Panchayat Union in Sathyamangalam taluk; and Thuckkanaickenpalayam panchayat Union and the reserve forests lying in Gobienettipalayam and Sathyamangalam taluks.", shall be substituted;
'(xii) Under column 2, against 141-Tirupparankundram, in the description of the extent of the constituency, for the existing entry, the entry "Tirupparankundram Panchayat Union [excluding the Panchayats specified in item (39) of the Appendix]; and Madakulam, Ponmeni, Arappalayam, Kokkalappi, Kochadai and Vlllapuram .(part) villages of Madura! South taluk'', shall be substituted;
(xiii) Under column 2, against 143-Madurai Central, in the description of the extent of the- constituency, for the existing entry, the entry "Madurai Corporation [excluding Divisions 1 to 12, lft to 21, 27, 28 and 88 to 45 and Madakulam, Ponmeni, Arappalayam, Kokkalappi, Kochadai, Villapuram (part) villages of Madurai South taluk; and Sellur, Beefcikulam, Tallakulam, Sathamangafem, Vilangudi (pnrt), Thathaneri (part) and Managiri (part) villages of Madurai North taluk]", shall be substituted;
(xiv) Under column 2, against 145-Samayanallur (SC). in the description of the extent of the constituency, for the existing entry the entry "Madurai North taluk, including Sellur, Beebikulam, T'allakulam, Sathamangalam. Vilangudi (part). Thathaneri (part) and Managin (part) villages", shall be substituted;

(xvi) Under column 2, against 167-Tiruchirappalli-II and 168-Thlru- verambur, in the description of the extent of the constituencies for the words "K. Abishekhapuram Town Panchayats", the words "K. Abishekhapuram Panchayats", shall be substituted; (xvii) Under column 2, against 174-Tiruvarur (SC), in the description of the extent of the constituency, for the words "Nagapattinam taluk", the words "Tiruvarur taluk" shall be substituted;
(xviii) Under column 2, against 180-Peravurani. in the description of the extent of the constituency, for the words ' Peravurani sub-taluk", the words "Peravurani taluk", shall be substituted;
(xix) Under column 2, against 207-Sivakasi, 208-Srivilliputhur and 209- Rajapalayam(SC), in the description of the extent of the consti- tuencies for the words "Rajapalayam sub-taluk", the words "Rajapalayam taluk" shall be substituted;
(xx) Under column 2, against 210-Vilathikulam and 211-Ottapidaram (SC) in the description of the extent of the constituencies, for the words "Ottapidaram sub-taluk", the words "Ottapidram taJuk" shall be substituted;
II. In the Note, for the words and figure "1st day of December, 1974" the words and figure "1st day of August, 1975" shall be substituted;
III. In the Appendix to the said Order—
(i) In item (10), after the entry ' 12-Agraharam,", the entry "13-Veppan_ kuppam" shall be added;
(ii) For existing items (16), (17) and (18), the following items shall be substituted: —

(b) the existing serial numbers "2 to 5'' shall be re-numbered as serial numbers "3 to 6", respectively;
(v) In item (26) after the e?itry "9-Muthunalckenpatti", the entry "10- Semmankudal" shall be added;
(vi) Under item (35), in the heading, for the words "Gobichettipalayam taluk" substitute the words "Sathyamangalam taluk"; (vii) Under item (36) for "9. Kottaiduari Perichipalayam" substitute "9. Kottndurai".
(viii) In item 46—
(a) after the entry "8-Sendakottai", the entry "9-Maliakkadu" shall be inserted; and
(b) the existing serial numbers "9 to 14" shall be re-numbered as serial numbers "10 to 15" respectively;
(IX) Under item (47) for "20. Ulur" substitute the word "20'. itela Ulur"; (x) Under item (48) for "4. Vennalodai" substitute the word "4-Vadagal"; (xi) Under item (54), in the heading, for the words "Ottapidaram sub- taluk", the words "Ottapidaram taluk" shall be. substituted; and
