G.S.R. 253(E).—The following order made by the President is published for general information:—
THE DELIMITATION OF COUNCIL CONSTITUENCIES (MADRAS) AMENDMENT ORDER, 1976
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 12 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950 (43 of 1950), the President, after consulting the Election Commission, is pleased to make the following Order further to amend the Delimitation of Council Constituencies (Madras) Order, 1951, namely:—
1. This Order may be called the Delimitation of Council Constituencies (Madras) Amendment Order, 1976.
2. In the Delimitation of Council Constituencies (Madras) Order, 1951,—
(i) in the TABLE below paragraph 2, for the words "Chingleput" and "Kanya- kumari" wherever they occur, the words "Chengalpattu" and "Kanniya- kumari" respectively shall be substituted; and
(ii) In paragraph 3, for the figures, letters and words "1st day of February, 1974", the figures, letters and words "1st day of November, 1975" shall bo substituted.
