The following Act of Parliament received the assent of the President on the 30th March , 1976 , and is hereby published for general informa-
tion: -
THE CONTEMPT OF COURTS ( AMENDMENT) ACT , 1976
NO. 45 OF 1976
[30th March , 1976]
An Act to amend the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 .
Be it enacted by Parliament in the Twenty - seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows: --
Short title.
1. This Act may be called the Contempt of Courts (Amendment ) Act, 1976 .
70 of 1971 , 2. In the Contempt of Courts Act , 1971 , in section 15, in sub- section (1 ) ,-
Amend- ment of section 15 .
(i) in clause (b ) , the word " or " shall be inserted at the end;
(ii ) after clause ( b ) as so amended , the following clause shall be inserted, namely : -
"(c) in relation to the High Court for the Union territory of Delhi , such Law Officer as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette , specify in this behalf, or any other person, with the consent in writing of such Law Officer ." .
