ORDER
New Delhi, the 1st August 1976
S.O. 518(E).—Whereas the Central Government had made a reference to the Tariff Commission to make an enquiry into the cost struct re of jute goods, namely, B-Twill and D.W. Flour Bags and make an assessment of the actual cost of conversion of raw jute into the said jute goods within a period of three wears from the 1st April, 1973;
Whereas the Tariff Commission had made investigation accordingly but could not hold public inquiry for the purpose before submitting its report to the Government for want of quorum;
hereas the Tariff Commission has since been wound up;
And Whereas the Central Government is of opinion that it is necessary to appoint a Commission of Inquiry for the purpose of making an inquiry into a definite matter of public importance, namely, to have an authoritative assessment of the conversion of raw jute into the aforesaid jute goods for the purpose of fixation of fair prices for the pur- chases made by that Government;

Flour Bags and to make an assessment of the actual cost of conversion of raw jute into the said jute goods.
The said Commission shall start the work from where it has been left by the Tariff Commission and submit its report to the Central Government within a period of two months,
