[4th September , 1976 ]
An Act to repeal the Dhoties (Additional Excise Duty) Act , 1953 .
BE it enacted by Parliament in the Twenty- seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows: -
1. This Act may be called the Dhoties ( Additional Excise Duty ) Short title . Repeal Act , 1976 .
2. The Dhoties ( Additional Excise Duty ) Act, 1953, is hereby repealed . Repeal of Act39 of 1953.

THE FACTORIES ( AMENDMENT) ACT , 1976
No. 94 OF 1976
[4th September , 1976 ]
An Act further to amend the Factories Act , 1948
BE it enacted by Parliament in the Twenty- seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows : -
1. (1 ) This Act may be called the Factories ( Amendment) Act, 1976. Short title and com- mence- ment, (2) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
63 of 1948.
2. In section 2 of the Factories Act , 1948 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act ) ,--
Amend- ment of section 2.
(1) in clause (k ) ,---
(a ) for sub-clause ( ii ) , the following sun- clauze shall be substituted , namely: -
" ( ii ) pumping oil, water , sewage or any other substance ;

(b ) in sub -clause ( iv ) and sub-clause ( v ) , the word " or " shall be inserted at the end;
