ORDER

New Delhi, the 24th September 1976

S.O. 638(E).—Whereas in the opinion of the Central Government it is necessary and expedient so to do for maintaining supplies and services essential to the life of the community;

And, whereas, any strike in the services connected with the supply of electrical energy to the public or with the generation and transmission of electrical energy in the State of Gujarat would prejudicially affect the maintenance of supplies and services essential to the life of the community, "It is necessary and expedient to prevent strikes in the said services;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by rule 118 of the Defence and internal security of India Rules 1971, the Central Government hereby prohi- bits; with immediate effect, any strike in connection with any industrial dispute, in the said services for a period of six months, with effect from the 241h Septem- ber, 1976.
