ORDER

New Delhi, the 13th November 1976

S.O. 730(E).—Whereas in the opinion of the Central Government, it is necessary and expedient so to do for maintaining supplies and services essential to the life of the com- munity;

And whereas any strike in any of the establishments connected with mining of magne- site and associated refractories and other factories in the District of Salem in the State of Tamil Nadu would prejudicially affect the maintenance of supplies and services essential to the life of the community, it is necessary and expedient to prevent strike in the said estab- lishments;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by rule 118 of the Defence and Internal Security of India Rules, 1971, the Central Government hereby prohibits any strike in connection with any industrial dispute in the said establishments for a period of six months with immediate effect.
