SUBJECT,—Import of Polyester Fibre : Import Policy for the licensing period April

1976—March 1977.

No. 118-ITC(PN)/76.—Attention is invited to the policy for import of polyester fibre as indicated against S. No. 112(xv)/V in Section II of the Import Trade Control Policy Red Book (Volume I) for the period' April 1976—March 1977, as amended vide Public Notice Nos. 68-ITC(PN)/76 dated the 24th July. 1976 and 83-ITC(PN)/76 dated the 20th August, 1976, in terms of which the item polyester fibre has been included the direct allot- ment of imported raw materials to actual users by the State Trading Corporation of India Limited.

2. On a review of the position, it has been decided to allow direct import of polyester fibre to actual users engaged in the textile industry holding industrial licence issued under Item No 23(1), 23(3) or 23(5) of the 1st schedule to the Industries (Development and Regulation) Act, 1951.

3. Actual users holding industrial licences referred to above should submit applications to the licensing authorities concerned for issue of licence for import of polyester fibre. Import licences will be issued for the value applied for. It shall be the condition of the licence that the imported goods shall be used only in the licensee's own unit for produc- tion of goods for which industrial licence is held.

4. The licences issued in terms of this public notice will have a validity unto 31st October 1977 and no grace period for shipment of goods will be allowed. The shipments should be made on or before 31st October, 19775 The import policy for polyester fibre as ir-dinted against S. No. 122(xv)/v in Section II Section TIT and Appendix 74 of the Red Books (Volume I) for the period April 1976—March 1977 may be deemed to have been amended to the extent indicated above. A.
