The following Act of Parliament received the assent of the President on the 24th November, 1976 and is hereby published for general information: —•
THE HOUSE OF THE PEOPLE (EXTENSION OF DURATION)
AMENDMENT ACT, 1976
No. 109 OF 1976
[24th November, 1976]
An Act to provide for the further extension of the duration, of the
present House of the People.
BE it enacted by Parliament in the Twenty-seventh Year of the
Republic of India as follows: —
1. This Act may be called the House of the People (Extension of
Duration) Amendment Act, 1976.
Short title.
1442 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 1](2) for the proviso, the following proviso shall be substituted, namely: —
"Provided that if both or either of the said Proclamations csase or ceases to operate before the expiration of the said period of two years, the present House of the People shall, unless previously dissolved under clause (2) of article 85 of the Constitution, continue until six months after the cesser of operation of the said Proclamations or Proclamation but not beyond the said period of two years.".

CORRIGENDA
Tn the Indian Iron and Steel Company Ltd. (Acquisition of Shares) Act, 1976 (89 of 1976) as published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Sec'tion 1, dated the 3rd September, 1976: —
1. at page 1145, in the margine of section 9, for "Admision" read "Admission'', and
2. at pa^e 1145, in sub-section (3) of section 9 for "withi" read "within".
In the Code of Civil Procedure (Amendment) Act, 1976 as published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 1, dated the 10th September, 1976,—
1. at page 1296, line 5, for "and" read "an"; 2. at page 1316, line 12, for "hold" read "sold"; 3. at page 1316, last line, for "decree." read "decree."."; 4- at page 1331, for line 29, read "thereafter as the Court may allow," shall be substituted;";
