RESOLUTION
New Delhi , the 21st December 1976
No. U - 13019/ 11/ 76 -GP. The township of Auroville has been founded on the basis of Charter announced by the Mother on the 28th February , 1968. The Gov... ernment of India and a number of State Governments have contributed substan- hully, to the project of development of Auroville . The Auroville project was also sponsored at the initiative oftive of the Government of India by resolutions passed by the General Conference of UNESCO held at Paris in 1966 , 1968 and 1970. The Govern- ment of India have , therefore , a special responsibility in regard to the foundation and development of Auroville as a township of international importance . During the last one year , a number of problems of varied nature have arisen affecting the smooth running of the sald township which call for urgent solution . These pro- blems cannot be tackled piecemeal on an ad- hoc basis . The Government of India have , therefore , decided to set up a Committee to consider the problems of Aurovil- le in depth and in their entirety and help in their solution with a view to promoting the objectives set forth by the Mother in the Auroville Charter . This Committee will also evolve an appropriate procedure about the clearance for entry into and stay in Auroville of foreigners .

सं ० यू०-13019/ 11 / 76-जी० पी० . ओरोविल टाउनशिप की स्थापना , ' मदर' द्वाराग 28 फरवरी , 1968 को घोषित चार्टर के आधार पर की गई हैं । ओरोविले विकास परियोजना में भारत सरकार तथा श्रनेक राज्य सरकारों ने पर्याप्त योगदान किया हैं । श्रोरोधिक्ष परयोजना भारत सरकार के पहल करने पर ही , 1966 , 1968 तथा 1970 में यूनेस्को के पैर्पोरस में हुए महा सम्मेलन में पारित संकल्पों के तहत चलाई गई थी । इसलिए , अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय महत्व के टाउनशिप के रूप में ओरोविले की स्थापना और विकास के संबध में भारत सरकार की विशेष जिम्मे- दारी हैं । पिछले एक वर्ष के दौरान , अनेक प्रकार की समस्यायें उत्पन्न हुई है जिनसे उक्त टाउनशिप के मुचारू रूप से संचालन पर प्रतिकूल प्रभाव पड़ा हैं और जिन्हे शीघ्र हल करने की आवश्यकता हैं । इन समस्याओं को तदर्थ श्राधार पर अलग अलग रूप से हल नहीं किया जा सकता । इसलिए , भारत सरकार ने श्रोरोविले की समस्याओं पर गहन तथा पूरी तरह विचार करने तथा उनके समाधान में मदद करने के लिए एक समिति बनाने का निर्णय किया हैं ताकि ओरोविले चार्टर में ' मदर' द्वारा निर्धारित उद्देश्यों की पूति की जा सके । यह समिति श्रोरोविले में विदेशियों के प्रवेश तथा ठहरने के मबध में धनुर्मात देने के बारे में उचित कार्यविधि भी तैयार करेगी ।
इस समिति में निम्नलिखित सदस्य होंगे:-
