S.O. 816 ( E ) . In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 2 ) of section 1 of the Deposit Insurance Corporation ( Amendment ) Act, 1968 ( 56 of 1968 ) , the Central Government hereby appoints the 1st day of January , 1977 , as the day on which section 7 of the said Act shall come Into force in the State of Karnataka .
