ORDER
New Delhi, the 24th December 1976
S.O 828(E).—Whereas in the opinion of the Central Government it is necessary and expedient so to do for maintaining supplies and services essential to the life of the community;
And whereas any strike or lockout in the services In the State of Kerala, con- nected with the supply of electrical energy to the public or with the generation, storage or transmission of electrical energy for the purpose of such supply (includ- ing the works connected with the Idukki Hydroelectric Project in the State of Kerala) would prejudicially affect the maintenance of supplies and services essen- tial to the life of the community, it is necessary and expedient to prevent strike or lockout in the said services;
Now therefore in exercise of the powers conferred by rule 118 of the Defence and Internal Security of India Rules, 1971, the Central Government hereby prohi- bits any strike or lockout, in connection with any industrial dispute in the said services for a period of six months with immediate effect.
