NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 7th January 1977

SO. l5(E).—Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the late Ministry of Steel and Mines (Department of Mines) No S O 233 dated the 9th January, 1974, under sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Coal Bearing Areas (Acquisition and Development) Act, 1977 (20 of 1957), the Central Government gave notice of its mention to prospect for coal in lands measuring 3585 00 acres (approximately) or 1450.78 hectares (appoximately) in the locality specified in the schedule appended to that notification,

And whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Energy (Department of Coal SO 5070 dated 12th November, 1975, under sub section (i) of section 7 of the said Act notice was issued specifing a further period of one year commencing from the 9th January, 1976, as the period within which the Central Government may giive notice of its intention to acquire the said 1 lands any rights in or over such lands

And whereas the Central Government is satisfied that coal is obtainable in the part of the said lands.

Now therefore in e x t ra e of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 7 of the Coal Bearing Areas (Acquisition and Development) Act, 1957

(20 of 1957), the Central Government hereby gives notice of its intention to acquire rights to mine, quarry, bare, dig and search for, win, work and carry away minerals in the lands measuring 3533J552 aares (approximately) or 1430 009 hectares (appioximately) described in schedule 'A', 'B' and 'C appended hereto.

NOTE 1 —The plans of the area covered by this notification may be inspected in the Office of the Collector, Betul (Madhya Pradesh) or in the Office of the Coal Controller^ 1, Council House Street, Calcutta or In the Office of the Western Coalfields Limited (Revenue Section), Bisesar House, Temple Road, Nagpur (Maharashtra).

NOTE 2.—The Coal Controller, 1, Council House Street, Calcutta has been appointed by the Central Government as the Competent Authority under the Act
