In pursuance of sub - rule ( 1 ) of rule 3 of the Registration of Foreigners Rules , 1939 , the Central Government hereby appoints the Regional Registration Officer , Pondicherry , to be the Registration Officer for the purposes of the said rules for the Union territory of Pondicherry and the South Arcot district of the State of Tamil Nadu The said Regional Registration Officer will function under the Chief Immigration Officer , Bureau of Immigration , Madras

In pursuance of clause ( 2 ) of paragraph 2 of the Foreigners Order, 1948 , the Central Government hereby appoints the Regional Registration Officer, Pondicherry, to be the CivilCivil Authority for the purposes of the said Order for the Union territory of Pondicherry and the South Arcot district of the State f Tamil Nadu .
