S.O. 281 (E).—In pursuance of sub-rule (1) of rule 3 of the Registration of Foreigners Rules, 1939, and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Home Affairs No S O 48(E) dated the 29th January, 1977, the Central Government hereby appoints the Regional Registration Officer, Pondicherry, to be the Registration Officer for the purposes of the said rules for the Pondicherry region of the Union territory of Pondicherry and the areas within the limits of the police station at Kottakupam in South Arcot district of the State of Tamil Nadu, The said Regional Registration Officer will function under the Chief Immigration Officer, Bureau of Immigration, Madras.
