CENTRAL EXCISES
New Delhi, the 13th APRIL 1977
G.S.R. 180 (E),—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue and Insurance No, 28/75- Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1975, namely,—
In the Table annexed to the said notification, against Serial No 1, in column (21, for the second provide. the following proviso shall be substitute!, namely —
"Provided further that polyester fibre falling under this Item shall be- exempted from so much of the duty of excise leviable thereon as is in excess of Rs. 36 per kilogram where such polyester fibre is. produced in a fartory whose production of polyester fibre during the preceding financial year did no. exceed 12,000 tonnes "
