NOTIFICATION

CUSTOMS

New Delhi, the 25th May 1977

G.S R. 253(E),—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), read with sub-section (4) of section 32 of the Finance Act, 1976 (66 of 1976) and in continuation of the notification of the Government of India in the Department of Revenue and Banking (Revenue Wing) No. 33-Customs, dated the 11th March, 1977, the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts industrial diamonds, whether natural or synthetic, in- dust or in powder form, falling within Chapter 71 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), when imported into India from—

(a) so much tit that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon, which is specified in the said First Schedule as is in excess of 40 per cent ad-valorem and ( 877 ) 878 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY PART II—SKC. 3 ( I) (b) the whole of the auxiliary duty of customs leviable thereon under sub-section (1) of section 32 of the said Finance Act.
