NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 9th June 1977
S.O. 390(E).—Whereas an election petition under Sub-Section (1) of section 5 of the Disputed Elections (Prime Minister and Speaker) Act, 1977 (16 of 197.7), calling in question the election of Shri Morarjibhai Ranchhodjibhan Desai from 24-Surat Parliamentary Constituency in the State of Gujarat has been presented to the Election Commission by Shri Jashwant Chauhan, a candidate at that election,
And whereas under the said Act it is necessary that the petition aforesaid should be tried by an Authority consisting of a single member who is. a Judge of the Supreme Count,
And whereas the Chief Justice of india has, under sub-section (2) of section 4 of the said Act, nominated Shri Justice P N. Bhagwati, for this purpose,
Now. therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of sec- tion 4 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby constitutes the said Authority with Shri Justice P N Bhagwati as member to try the election petition against Shri Morarjibhai Ranchhodjibhai Desai
