SUEJECT—Import of edibJe oils and oil seeds
No. 39-ITCHPN)/77.—Attention is invited to the Ministry of Commerce Public Notice No 6-ITC(PN)/77 dated the 17th January, 1877, as amended vide Public Notice No 7-ITC(PN)/77 dated the 24th January, 1977 and also item No 9 20 in Appendix 2 of the ITC Policy (Volume I) for the period April, 1977-March, 1978 in terms of which import of specified items of edible oils/oil seeds is allowed for direct human consumption
2 It it clarified that import of palm oil referred to in the aforesaid Public Notices and also against S No 19 in Appendix 2 of the ITC Policy Book for 1977-78 will cover import of 'Plam kernel Oil' also
3. Import licences already issued for palm oil in terms of the aforesaid provi- sions will be automatically valid for import of palm kernel oil and it will not be necessary for the licensees to approach the licensing authorities for endorsement of this item on the import licences Further, Palm kernel Oil already imported against licences issued for palm oil will be allowed clearance by the Customs authorities on the basis of this Public Notice
