G.S R. 527(,E),—-In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (i) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts copperwaste and scrap, falling under Heading No. 74-01/02 of the First Schedule to the Customs, Tariff Act , 1975 (51 of 1975), when import- ed into India, from so much of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the Bald First Shedule as is in excess of 80 per cent ad valorem.

In the Schedule to the said notification,— after serial No. 158 and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be inserted, rmmely —
"159. No. 156-Customs, dated the 16th July, 1977."
