" CENTRAL Excises

New Delhi, the 23rd July 1977

G S.R. 539(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Department of Revenue and Banking, No, 198/76-Central Excises, dated the 16th June, l976. namely —

In the said notification,—

(1) in the first paragraph, after clause (b), the following clause shall be inserted, namely —

"(e) in the case of paper described in the Table annexed to the said notification, the clearances of such paper in respect of which a manufacturer has availed or avails of the exemption under the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue and Insurance) No 42/73-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1973, or the notification of the Government of India in the Department of Revenue and Banking, No 129/77- Central Excises, dated the 18th June, 1977, shall not be taken into account.", (1539) I 5 4O T HE G A Z E T TE OF I N D IA E X T R A O R D I N A RY P A RT I I —S K C. 3 ( i) ••

(n) in paragraph 4, in clause (c), fbr the letters, figures and words "Nos 128/77-Central Excises and I29/77-Central Excises, both", the letters, figures and words No. 128/77-Central Excises", shall be substituted
