G.S.R. 563 (E).—In exercise of the powers confened by section 24 of the Passports Act, 1967 (15 of 1987), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Pasports Rules, 1967, namely —
1. (l) These rules may be called the Passports (Amendment) Rules, 1977. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2 In the first proviso to rule 6 of the Passports Rules, 1967 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), for clause (1), the following clause shall be substi- tuted, namely —
"(1) furnishes a certificate from a Member of Parliament or from an officer not below the rank of a Deputy Secretary to Government or from a Magistrate of the First Class,"
3 In Schedule III to the said rules, in Form EA(F)-1, under the heading "Verification Certificate" for the portion beginning with the words "caution" and ending with the words and bracket "First Class)", the following shall be substituted, namely—
