NOTIFICATION

CENTRAL EXCISES New Delhi, the 9th August 1977

G.S.R 564(E)--In exercise of the powers conferred by tub-rule (1) of rule 8 of Central Excise Rules 1944 the Central Government hereby makes the fol- lowing amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Depart- ment of Revenue and Banking No 88/77-CE dated 9th May, 1977, namely¹—

In the said notification, for the existing Explanation, the following Explana- tion shall be substituted, namely —

"Explanation—For the purposes of this notification, where footwear, manufactured by a manufacturer, is affixed with the brand or trade name registered or not, of another manufacturer or trader, it shall not, merely by reason of that fact, be deemed to have been manu- factured by or on behalf of such other manufacturer or trader" [No, 269/77] B PROSAD, Under Secy.
