NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the nth September 1977
S.RO. £]-(E)—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of section 3 ol the Indian Soldiers (Litigation) Act, 1925 (4 of 1925) and in supersessjon of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Defence No S.R O. 467 dated the 8th Decembei 1971, the Central Government hereby specifies the follow- ing places within India as the places where Indian soldiers shall be deemed to be or, as Lhe case may be, to have been serving under special conditions lor the pur- poses of the said Act, namely —
(1) The States of—
(a) Jammu and Kashmir (b) Manipur (c) Nagaland (d) Tripura (e) Sikkim,
(2) The Union territories of—
(a) The Andaman and Nicobar Islands (b) Arunachal Pradesh (c) Mizoram,
(3; The Districts of—
(a) Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Plthoragarh in the State of Uttar Pradesh fb) Lahaul and Spiti, Kinnaur and Kulu in the State of Himachal Pradesh.
