NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 29th September 1977
G.S.R. 624(E).—The following draft of certain rules further to amend the Pre- vention of Food Adulteration Rules, 1955, which the Central Government proposes to make In exercise of the powers conferred by section 23 of the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954 (37 of 1954), in the circumstances which in the opinion of the Central Government render it necessary to make rules without consultation with the Central Committee for Food Standards, is hereby published as required by sub-section (1) of the said section for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consideration after 10 days of the publication of the notification in the Gazette of India Any objections or suggestions received from any person with respect to the said draft rules before the date so specified shall be considered by the Central Government

1 9 20 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINAEY PART I I —S E C^ 2 In the Prevention of Food Adulteration Rules, 1955, in rule 44, after the existing provisos, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely.—"Provided also that clause (e) shall remain inoperative in respect of the mixture of groundnut oil with palmolein to be packed and sold by the Ministry of Civil Supplies, Government of India, or their authorised agents, for a period of three months from the date of commencement of the Prevention of Food Adulteration (Amendment) Rules, 1977."
