NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 5th October 1977

In exorcise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 61 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 (53 of 1972), the Central Government, being of the opinion that it is expedient so to do, hereby makes the follow- ing alterations in the Schedules to the said Act, namely —

1 In Schedule I to the said Act,—

(a) in Part I —

(i) entry 1 shall be renumbered as entry 1A and before entry 1A as so renumbered, entry 1 from Schedule III shall be trans- ferred as entry 1

(ii) after entry 3 entry 4 in Part I of Schedule II shall be

transferred as entry 3A;

(iii) after entry 5A entry 4 of Schedule III shall be trans-

ferred as entry 5B;

(iv) after entry 6, entry 1 in Schedule IV shall be transferred

as entry 6A:

(v) after entry 8, entry 6 in Schedule III and entries 6 and 8 in Schedule II shall respectively be transferred as entries 8A, 8B and 8C;

(iii) after entry 10, entry 10 in Schedule III shall be trans-

ferred as entry 10A.

(vn) after entry 12A, entry 13 in Part I of Schedule II shall be transferred as entry 12B;

(vm) after entry 16, entry 1 in Part II of Schedule II shall be transferred as entry 16A,

(ix) after entry 22, entry 15 in Part I of Schedule II shall be transferred as entry 22A;

(x) after entry 24, entry 13 in Schedule III shall be trans- ferred as entry 24A;

(xi) after entry 25, entry 3 in Part II of Schedule II shall be transferred as entry 25A;

(mi after entry 31, entry 18 in Part I of Schedule II shall be transferred as entry 31A;

(xih) after entry 31A, entry L7 in Schedule III shall be trans- ferred as entry 31B,

(x'w) after entry 3(3, entry 20 in Part I of Schedule II shall be transferred as entry 36A;

(xv) after entry 41, entry 23 in Part I of Schedule II shall b$ transferred as entry 41A;

(b) in Part—II,—

(i) entry 1 in Part I of Schedule II shall be transferred &s entry 1;

(ii) after entry 14, entry IT in Part I of Schedule II shall be transferred as entry 14A;

(in) after entry 17, entry 21 in Part I of Schedule II shall be transferred as entry 17A;

2 In Schedule—II to the said Act,—

(a) in Part—I,—

(i) after entry 3A, entry 3 in Schedule III shall be transferred as entry 3B;

(b) in Part—II,—

(t) entry 9 in Part I of Schedule II shall be transferred as entry 1;

(ii) entry 2 shall be renumbered as entry 3 and before entry 3 as so renumbered, entry 10 from Part I of Schedule II shall be transferred as entry 2,

(in) after entry 3, entry 7 in Schedule IV shall be transferred as entry 4;

8. In Schedule—IV to the said Act,—

(i) entry 1A shall be renumbered as entry 1 and after entry 1 as so renumbered, entry 2 from Schedule V shall be transferred as entry 1A;

(ii) after entry 3, the following entry shall be inserted, namely —

"3A. Five striped palm squirrel (Funambulus pennanti)",

(iii) after entry 4C, entry 4 in Schedule V shall be transferred as

entry 4D;

(iv) after entry 4D, the following entry shall be insetted, name- i y :-

"Indian Porcupine (Hystrix mdiea)";

(v) after entry 6, the following entry shall be inserted, namely: —

"6A. Mongodses (all species of genus Herpestes)";

(4>i) after entry 7, the following entry shall be inserted, namely: —

"7A. Pole cats (Vormela peregusna, Mustela, putonus)",

(im) after entry 8, the following entry shall be inserted, name- l y :~

"RA Red fox (Vulpes montana, Vulpes griffithi and Vulpea pusilla)";

{vm) after entry 9, the following entry shall be inserted, name- l y :-

"9A. Small travancore flying squirrel (Petmomys fuscoca- pillus)";

(we) in entry 11,—

(a) after item (n), the following items shall be inserted, namely: —

"(iia) Avocots (Recurvirostridae).

(nb) Bitterns (Ardeidae)";

(b) after item (rii), the following items shall be inserted, namely: —

(c) after item (vi), the following items shall be inserted, namely: —

(f) qfter item (xv), the following shall be inserted, namely: —

(g) after item (xvn), the following items shall be inserted namely. —

(h) after item (xix), the following entry shall bo inserted, namely. —

'•(xixa) Jacanas (Jacamdae)",

(j) aftei item (xx), the following items shall be inserted, namely. —

"(xxa) Kingfishers (Alcedinidae). (xxb) Larks (Alaudidae)¹¹,

(j) aftei item (xxnl, the following items shall be inserted, namely: —

(k) aftei item (xxv), the following items shall be mseited, namely: —

"(xxva) Parrots (Psittasidae)";

(I) after item (,xxxi), the following item shall bo inseited, namely: —

(m) after item (xxxin), the following items shall be inserted, namely: —

(nj after (xxxv), the following entry shall be inserted, name-
